The Inca Trail to Machu Picchu is beyond a doubt one of the most beautiful trails in America and also it gives you an unforgettable experience not to be missed. The Inca trail leads through the protected wild nature of the Peruvian jungle and forest steppe, passes several archeological Inca sights and offers impressive views.
The Incas used this itinerary for their pilgrimage to the sacred citadel Machu Picchu.

Cusco – Ollantaytambo – KM82 – Wayllabamba – Warmi Wañuska – Paqaymayu – Sayacmarca – Phuyupatamarca – Wiñayhuayna – Intipunku – Machu Picchu – Aguas Calientes – Cusco

Itinerary

We pick you up from your hotel in Cusco at 6:00 am and travel by bus for approximately 2 hours to Calca, where we stop to buy personal supplies; From here we drive 3 hours further to Lares, were we will spend time in the hot springs and have lunch, after that we will begin our hike, after 4 to 5 hours of walking we arrive at our first campsite at Huacahuasi. 

Today is our hardest day!!! After our breakfast we will start hiking, ascending to the highest point on the trail, called Dead Woman’s Pass (Warmi Wañusca), over 4,200 meters a.s.l. After lunch we descend to Pacaymayo where we will camp overnight.

After breakfast we are going to start hiking Runku Rakay to cross the 2nd pass at 3,800m a.s.l. We will descend to Sayacmarca, after lunch we continue to Wiñay Wayna where we spend our third and final night on the trail.

Today our tour is going to begin very early, we will walk to the Sun Gate (Inti Punku), from this point we can see the beautiful Machu Picchu. Later on, in the ruins, we will have a guided tour (2 hours) then you will be visiting Waynapicchu on you own Waynapicchu entrance second slot 10 a.m. to after words will descend to the village of Aguas Calientes. We suggest the hot springs same as Aguas Calientes, bring a bathing suit.

To later return tu Cuzco by train 13:37 hrs stop at Ollantaytambo then from Ollantaytambo to Cuzco by car, the arrival at Cusco approximately 5:50 p.m.

Tonight we go out celebrate Inca trail accomplishment at Cuzco with dinner or simple just rest at a hotel. Dinner not included this is just a suggestion.
